RICES LANDING, Pa. — The communities of Rices Landing and surrounding Greene County are mourning the tragic death of 34-year-old Zachary Wolfe, who was killed in a mining accident Tuesday night at Bailey Mine.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the fatal incident occurred at the Crabapple Portal of Bailey Mine in Richhill Township near Graysville. Investigators said Wolfe was working underground when he was struck and crushed by a falling rock.

Emergency crews responded to the scene following reports of the accident, but Wolfe sadly died from the injuries he sustained.
